III. Route description:
Also called the Transylvanian Delta, a series of lakes from Taga, Geaca, and Catina is recommended especially for fishing enthusiasts because of the multitude of fish species that live in these waters as the phytophagous, carp, perch, and carp. Tourists who come by can also admire the numerous species of birds, including gulls, pelicans, swans, gray thrush, and the golden thrush, which are the delight of amateur photographers.

IV. Attractions in the area:
Orthodox churches (historical monument) in Taga, Nasal, Santejude and an impressive new Orthodox church in Taga, surprisingly monumental especially through the accuracy of its interior painting.

From here, tourists can buy the famous cheese of Nasal, which rivals the famous French cheese, and delight in many dishes, both fish, and many other traditional and famous dishes at the fish restaurant at Taga.

Here can also be found the Legii-Raoasa Nature Reservation in Geaca Commune, where in addition to many species of plants and animals lives the famous bird, Boul de Balta. Also in Geaca Commune, in the Legii Forest, can be found the earliest blooming snowdrops during the spring.

As a curiosity, about 140 bison live in Taga, brought from America, which can be enjoyed in any season in their own pasture habitat reserved for especially for them.

Bizoni

Another curiosity is the tulip tree from Taga, one of the most impressive trees, given the size they can reach in maturity, as well as the appearance and color of the flowers and leaves. It is highly resistant to bad environmental conditions, and has a rapid and continuous growth.
In native regions, some specimens can live to an age of 200 or even 300 years, when they can reach 30 m high and over a meter in diameter. What is really impressive is the appearance of the tree’s flowers which are about 4-5 cm.

Also here you can find a very interesting forest, where in addition to leaves, mushrooms, wild strawberries and flowers on the floor is full of fish. At first glance it seems impossible to do so. A forest with fish? The explanation is that they nest in trees forest comes from the fact that there is a rare bird that feeds from lakes at Taga. Fish are brought to the nest where fall down and, just like in the story of the raven tricked by fox get to “feast” for the happy fox no longer has to “fish” but are served with fresh fish by thrushes.
